TerraSAR-X (TSX) is the first civilian synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite providing High Resolution (HR) images (~1 meters). With HR and the 11-day repeat cycle of TSX images, some visual tracking of two different features are possible:

  • the displacement of the cracked parts as illustrated by Bossons glacier animation (animation with three images of the autumn 2008 time series),

  • the dispalcement of corner reflector as illustrated by DLR corner reflector animation (animation with two times series: autumn 2008 and spring/summer 2009, i.e. ten images).
